INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRICITY

Electricity is an integral part of our life. Without it, Every appliance, gadget, equipment, machinery, tool etc would stop running and our life too will come to a standstill. This causes not only hardships and inconveniences – but also leads to economic losses owing to reduced industrial output, slowdown or standstill situation in commerce / construction / trade / agriculture / transport sector etc and also by reduction in comfort levels and deterioration in living conditions.

In India, there are many problems in Electric Power supply, mainly due to availability shortage, which is fuelled by the ever growing demand. Coupled with the deficiencies in transmission & distribution of electric power and the rampant power theft, the shortfall in Electric power availability is expected to rise to 25 % during peak time in a few years.
