GUARDIAN SERVO CONTROLLED voltage stabilisers are normally used for very sensitive loads. The load bearing capacity is very high and there are models ranging upto 500 KVA. Depending on the load type and also the duration of operation – GUARDIAN SERVO CONTROLLED voltage stabilisers are further classified as Air cooled and Oil cooled types and are available in single and three phase type application. Single Phase Air Cooled Servo Controlled Voltage Stabilisers are used for load applications below 15 KVA. Air cooled models are available for three phase load applications below 60 KVA. Above 60 KVA all the models of GUARDIAN Servo Controlled Voltage Stabilisers are oil cooled.

SELECTION OF A MODEL OF SERVO CONTROLLED VOLTAGE STABILISER : While selecting a model of Servo Controlled Voltage Stabiliser - care should be taken to select an appropriate or suitable model – as the equipments connected are very sensitive and critical. Hence, you need to know the exact specified load of the equipment that is to be protected. In case of multiple loads – you need to total up the individual loads. After determining the total load that may be applied – you need to add at-least 20 to 30 % additionally – as safety factor. This is being done to provide an allowance - such that the servo controlled voltage stabilisers – which are on many occasions made to operate continuously – operate smoothly and efficiently. Also this safety factor allowance in capacity provides for accommodating the future growth requirements.

In India the standard residential Single Phase Electricity supply voltage is 220 V (AC) at 50 Hz Frequency. The standard Three Phase Electricity supply Voltage is 415 V (AC). Generally, for household appliances and gadgets the acceptable input voltage range is in the range of 200 to 250 Volts. However, very Sensitive and Critical application equipments or machineries have very limited input voltage range – which is normally considered a steady 220/230 Volts (in single phase) and 400 / 415 Volts (in Three Phase) applications with a range of 1 or 2%.

After determining the load capacity of the servo controlled stabiliser, the operating voltage range of the servo controlled stabiliser based on the incoming voltage is to be selected. If the fluctuations are large – then wider ranges of incoming voltage need to be selected. Kindly refer to the voltage ranges chart for selecting an appropriate model.

INSTALLATION AND COMMISIONING OF SERVO CONTROLLED VOLTAGE STABILISER: The Servo Controlled Voltage Stabiliser – above 15 KVA rating needs special care and attention while installing and commissioning. Hence, the installation needs to be generally done by a trained technical staff. The commissioning of the servo controlled voltage stabiliser could be done only if the electrical input and output receptacles and terminations are provided by the buyer. The cables and the terminations are to be of the required current rating – conforming to applicable safety standards.

PROCEDURES TO BE ADOPTED WHILE INSTALLATION & OPERATION - GUARDIAN SERVO CONTROLLED VOLTAGE STABILISER:

Take care to install / mount / locate the stabiliser in a well-ventilated space, near the appliance / gadget / load connected.

Connect the plug of your equipment to the Socket / Connector on the Stabilizer. Connect the plug of the Guardian Stabilizer to the mains Socket / Connector. The indicating lamps will glow showing input to the stabilizer and output to the equipment connected.

When input is below or above the Working Voltage Range of the stabilizer, the output will be cutoff. In this event the output LED indicator will cease to glow.

When the input voltage returns to the operating range, the output will automatically resume. (Only applicable for models marked as YES in Output Cutoff Column.)

PRECAUTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED WHILE OPERATING / INSTALLING GUARDIAN SERVO CONTROLLED VOLTAGE STABILISER:

  • Do not connect any appliance / gadget / equipment above the rated capacity.
  • The power plug / socket / receptacles should be located at one meter near the stabilizer.
  • Switch the electric power to the stabilizer OFF when it is not in use. It would help to have on-off-switch on the power supply socket.
  • Keep the stabilizer away from food items, ants / pests may enter through the vent holes and clog the relay contacts.
  • Do not allow the stabilizer to get wet.
  • Keep the stabilizer away from hot / cold source.
  • Provide sufficient space around the stabilizer for ventilation.
  • Do not place the stabilizer in an enclosed place.
  • Do ensure that proper fuse/circuit breaker is provided in the power line connection to avoid overloading of the stabilizer.
  • Do ensure that proper Electrical Grounding (to prevent Electrical Shock) is provided to the stabilizer.
  • Do not use electronic equipment during heavy monsoon. Lightning can cause damage to the stabilizer as well as the equipment connected.
  • Do not overload the stabilizer.
  • Do not place lighted candle sticks on the stabilizer.
  • Do not open the stabilizer. Live connection may cause electrical shock.
  • Entrust your stabilizer to a qualified service technician / authorised service centre in the event to noticing any defects (Refer terms and conditions of warranty).
